Accurately Simulating Single-Layer Capacitors

In a recently published paper, Modelithics introduces an innovative approach to develop simulation models for single-layer capacitors. Effective simulation models for single-layers capacitors have historically not been widely available.

The present work has resulted in broadband, measurement-validated equivalent-circuit and 3D electromagnetic models for single-layer capacitors. These models are validated to frequencies as high as 67 GHz and offer flexibility to allow the designer to adapt the model to a specific use case. In addition, parameters for the bond wire attachment are included, resulting in models with variable application configurations that retain high levels of accuracy.
